Private Villa
Barberino del Mugello, Italy | 2023, ongoing
In the Florentine countryside, an ancient farmhouse is being transformed into a residence with a contemporary character, designed to welcome the life and aspirations of a young couple. The intervention aims to restore vitality to a historic building, preserving its authentic soul while reinterpreting it through a refined and contemporary architectural language.
Inside, the spaces have been completely reimagined and distributed across two levels, connected by an impressive staircase made of iron, glass, and wood—a striking presence that serves both as a functional centerpiece and a distinctive design feature. The fluidity of the circulation and the brightness of the new interiors create a natural continuity between the two floors, making the home both welcoming and dynamic.
The large outdoor areas, previously underutilized, are also being redeveloped with the addition of a swimming pool that now becomes a central element for conviviality and well-being.
The result is a harmonious balance between rural heritage and contemporary style, capable of telling a new story without betraying the roots of the place.
