AFAM Headquarters
Florence, Italy | 2018 – 2025
We are faced with a project that embodies a vision of complete regeneration. The redevelopment of an old building that will become the Administrative Headquarters of Farmacie Fiorentine has been a holistic operation, affecting every layer of the structure—from the exterior envelope to the finest details of interior design.
The initial priority was energy efficiency and durability. The application of an external insulation system (thermal coat) across the entire building not only redefined the aesthetic of the complex with a more contemporary image, but also significantly improved internal comfort standards, ensuring a substantial reduction in energy consumption and a lower environmental impact. This intervention on the exterior, together with the rationalization of the surrounding external layouts, laid the foundation for a functional and sustainable building.
Inside, we developed a design concept that intrinsically connects aesthetics with the company’s mission, through a clear inspiration drawn from the Aboca brand—synonymous with nature and well-being. The material palette has been carefully selected: solid oak conveys warmth and solidity, while pure white enhances brightness and highlights the lightness provided by glass.
The spatial organization has been engineered for maximum flexibility and transparency. A system of glass partitions, integrated with oak elements, defines the interiors. These partitions conceal retractable technical curtain systems within them, allowing privacy to be activated only when necessary, without compromising the fluidity of the space.
Thanks to a meticulous study of bulkheads and lowered ceilings, we were able to completely conceal every technical and mechanical system—from cabling to advanced climate control systems. This approach ensures a clean, linear, and uninterrupted interior design. The strategic introduction of abundant greenery completes the project, reflecting the company’s identity with consistency and coherence.
